Dojo Etiquette

1.        Safety first! Show strong spirit but do nothing that might endanger yourself or the
       well being of others in the class.
2.        Be on time for class. If you are late, sit in seiza (on the side line) and wait to be invited
       into the class.
3.        Bow when you enter or leave the dojo. (training hall)
4.        When the class is scheduled to begin, line up quickly and quietly in order of rank.
5.        If you must leave early, let the instructor know before the class starts.
6.        Wear a clean, white Gi. (karate uniform)
7.        Keep fingernails and toenails short. Do not wear watches or other jewelry.
8.        Respond quickly to instructions. Never argue with the instructor.
9.        Show enthusiasm, spirit, respect for others and good sportsmanship at all times.
10.      Always address the instructor using the term’ Sensei’ or the appropriate ‘Mr’ or’ Mrs’
       and the instructors last name.
11.      Pay all fees promptly.
12.      Notify the instructor if you will be gone for an extended period of time.
       (Vacations, injury, etc.)
13.      Notify the instructor if you have any medical conditions which may limit your training
       before the class commences.
14.      Enjoy practicing the art of karate and remember, you will get out of karate what
       you put in.
